Hey, I'm Laurie Chua!
My job isn't simply to give you more information to memorize. It's to help you build the knowledge you need, understand how to apply it, and develop the confidence to make a decision when the answer isn't obvious.
I've coached 100s of HR professionals through certification over the last 15 years, in the US, Malaysia, Indonesia, and across the Caribbean. I've held the PHR, SPHR, SPHR-CA, and SHRM-SCP myself. I know what these exams ask, and I know what candidates get wrong.
My HR career spans more than 30 years. Alongside it, I have worked at SHRM as a Knowledge Advisor, worked for Fortune 25 companies, and I've served as an HR expert witness in 60+ engagements in California state and federal courts.

How long is the program?

What if my exam is later than 12 weeks out?
That's common, and it's why access runs 18 months. Your individualized study plan is built backward from your actual exam date, not from the cohort calendar.

When are office hours?
Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time (Los Angeles), 45 minutes, every week for 12 weeks.
What happens in a session?
You submit questions. We work through them live and trace the reasoning path to the best answer. You watch the framework applied to a real item by the person who built it, in front of people making the same errors you are.
What if I can't make it?
You don't have to be there. Submit your questions ahead of the session and they get answered on the recording. Every session is recorded and posted for everyone enrolled - so a missed Saturday costs you nothing but the live back-and-forth.
Will my question definitely get answered?
Submitted questions are answered. If volume runs long in a given week, anything not covered live is answered on the recording or carried to the following session. Nothing submitted goes unanswered.
I'm outside the US. Is 11:00 a.m. Pacific workable?
For some time zones, it may not be—and that is why recordings and advance question submission are included. I have coached candidates in Malaysia, Indonesia and across the Caribbean. The format is built so attendance is an advantage, not a requirement.
Are the recordings available after the 12 weeks end?
Yes. Recordings stay in your library for the full 18 months of access.
Can I ask about my own situation, or is it exam questions only?
Office hours are for course content and exam questions. Your individual study plan and personal strategy are what the 1-on-1 session is for.
Which exams does it cover?

Although the exams overlap in core HR knowledge, they differ in terminology, emphasis, question design, and the way judgment is assessed. The program includes exam-specific guidance for both SHRM and HRCI candidates.
